Calgary is a fun place to double or triple date with other couples. Try a walk downtown art walk or just ride the C-trains up and down to different stations. Stop in for a refreshing drink at the Hop-In Brew at 213-12 Ave SW for a unique pub experience – no TV’s, just crowds of people, beer, pizza, music, and fun!

Come out to the second Mondays of the month and check out MoMondays. It is like Pecha Kucha, but no slides. A group of random speakers deliver a ten minute speak-from-the-heart address that is motivational, informative and inspiring. Even better, volunteer to be the speaker! Each month is a different line-up of speakers and locations. Check it out at Momondays.com/ma-calgary

What an awesome little place tucked away on 9th Avenue in Inglewood – The Blues Can. Totally awesome Louisiana food, with catfish, alligator and real frogs legs! Best of all is the live blues music and dancing. The music is not too loud in that you can’t whisper sweet nothings into your sweetie’s ears. It’s a bit weird to go to a blues bar without the haze of blue smoke, but my lungs appreciated it. Afternoon shows, evening shows and late evening shows for those night owls. This is a great place to go for a date.

Where can two go when they are walking down 17th Ave SW and are super hungry but not in the mood for full service fare? Tubby Dog! Everyone loves hot dogs and especially gourmet ones loaded with toppings. Almost makes you want to open a pancake take-out. Tubby Dog also has live music on the weekends for enjoying with a gourmet dog. Fun, yummy and messy.
